The Anstruther Philharmonic Society (the Phil for short) is a friendly and welcoming choir in the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland.  We would be delighted for you to be part of our Society - as a singer, member of our audience or Friend of the Society

Under the leadership of Dr Glynn Jenkins, Musical Director
We are planning to start singing again on 28 September 2021.

The Anstruther Philharmonic Society is a Charity Registered in Scotland Number SC030614
Remembering Dr Alasdair Kennedy

We commemorate Dr Alasdair Kennedy who was the GP for Pittenweem and a member of the Phil for nearly 60 years - as a bass singer, committee member, President and Honorary Life Member. Dr Kennedy passed away in March 2017.

The plaque in the photo recognises his contribution to the choir.  Dr Kennedy and his wife Jill, worked tirelessly on behalf of the choir, recruiting new singers and helping to spread their love of classical choral music throughout the East Neuk.  Their generous bequest enabled the Society to put on a concert dedicated to the music of Johann Nepomuk Hummel last March under the direction of our retiring conductor Robert Dick.

Thanks to Linda Holt for her generous donation of the piano, which is used to accompany the Phil during rehearsal.
